CasalFarneto Fontevecchia Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi 2004 is very crisp and clean, with light apple, melon, and apricot flavors. The Fontevecchia vineyard production is only about 3000 cases per year. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 6 months before bottling, this wine has a rich, creamy texture and a dry, elegant finish that makes Verdicchio one of the more fuller flavored of all the Italian white wines. The Vineyards are located on the crest of a hill within the prestigious Castelli di Jesi Zone, located approximately 12 km from the Adriatic Sea, with the grapes taking full advantage of the cooling seaward winds at 300 to 340 meters above sea level. Harvested in late September, fermented in stainless steel and aged for a total of 9 months before bottling, this 100% Verdicchio wine has a rich, creamy texture, tropical fruit tones and a dry, elegant finish that makes it one of the most full and complex flavored of all of the Italian white wines.

They have set aside 45 acres of their total holdings in order to develop and produce only one wine: Verdiccio Dei Castelli Di Jesi. This wonderful and unique wine is produced from vineyards 1,300 feet above sea level. The marche region occupies the northeastern center of italy and ajoins umbria to it's west, romagna to it's north and abruzzi to it's south. It is belived that viticulture was praticed in the marche even before the greeks invaded and colonized the area in the forth century b.c.. although the greater part of the vineyards in the marche are planted in the verdant hills facing the adriadic sea, grape production stretches as far west as the appentine mountains.
