Tempranillo wine Liberalia Cuatro 2002 is a red Crianza from Spain. Harmony is the intrinsic characteristic of this wine. Liberalia Cuatro 2002 has deep red color at its heart and purple in its robe. Twelve months maturation in French and American oak and Twelve months refining in bottles before release make this red Crianza an extremely rich and elegant wine. The nose displays a wide range of sensations, as much as for its intensity and for its quality. The strength of the earth passes in all its magnitude, by the blending of spiced traces from the tertiary series due to the time that the wine remained in the oak cask (clove, liquorice, and subtil remembrances of cacao). It has notes from the lactic and "pasteleria" series, announcing the presence of new oak. Liberalia Cuatro 2002 has an oily entrance to the palate, which fuses with the sensations provided by the sweet tanins that the bottle aging creates. Everything is structurated in countless tactile sensations that wake up the rest of the senses. The Tempranillo Tinto de Toro grapes are from vineyards that are over fifty years old, with some being close to 100 years old.

Liberalia is a family owned vineyard located in the prestigious area of the Denominación de Origen Toro, in the province of Zamora, Spain. Liberalia started its production of singular and high quality wines in the year 2000. Previously and since 1996, Juan Antonio Fernández, the owner, faithful to his career as agricultural engineer, acquired and organized the vineyards, whose ages range between 30 and 100 years old. The vineyard is located in fields where the traditional crop has been the vine. The variety is Tinta de Toro, which is an adaptation to the terroir of the variety Tempranillo or Tinto Fino. The family is also the owner of native and ancestral white grapes vineyards, which include the following varieties: Moscatel de Grano Menudo, Malvasía, and Albillo.

RATINGS: SILVER medal - VINALIES INTERNATIONALES competition Paris, France
BRONZE medal - Premios Zarcillo XI edition, III International Edition - International Wine Competition
87 Points - The Wine Advocate
"The 2002 Cuatro Crianza, made from 50-100 year old vines, is a successful effort in the more challenging vintage. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a Cotes du Rhone-like, peppery, spicy earthiness, plenty of black cherry and currant fruit, excellent ripeness, and a nice texture." - Robert Parker
