| Barolo Gianni Gagliardo Barolo Preve 2000 is a top wine from Gianni Gagliardo. Barolo Preve 2000 is sold out throughout the world. The only ones serving it are restaurants that charge about $170 per bottle. Barolo Preve 2000 comes from two small single vineyards: Serra dei Turchi, which it gives the wine perfume and elegance while Lazzarito gives the wine power and structure. After fermentation, the wine is aged separately for 24 months in new French barriques and then blended before bottle aging for another six months. Preve has always received great attention by the international press and is considered one of the best Barolo wines in the world. This gorgeous, limited 2000 Barolo is a beautiful deep ruby color. Complex with aromas of black cherries, tobacco leaf, and baking spices. Subtle blackberry and tar elements emerge. This wine demands attention with its bold, rich fruits and balanced fine tannins. Hints of leather, mint, aged balsamic and dried rose petals all marry in the glass to create this classic Barolo beauty. This wine has an amazing aging potential of 20 to 30 years yet it is soft and approachable today.
This winemaking family goes back six generations in the area. The grapes grown on each single vineyard are all vinified separately, by hand and with small, high-quality yields. At Present the Gagliardo estate is composed of 30 hectares. This land is distributed in the zones of La Morra, Barolo, Serralunga and Monticello d' Alba.
